Depending on how bad you jammed it,,it could take months. My husband was working one day and jammed his thumb joint really bad.. It took 3 months and he still has to be very careful. Certain movements of your hand can send a nice shock in the same area.. They make a band that keeps your thumb and other fingers in place during activity.. They are also great to keep your fingers steady during your sleep.. Use hand lotion every day and just massage the pain area while relaxing that helps a lot.
