God made every gender with some kind of uniqueness. One such uniqueness within females is the occurrence of period.

Periods usually start in the early teenage and once started; their occurrence becomes a normal activity. In fact, their non-occurrence can seem to be as an abnormal and worrying matter.

However, it often happens that many females often miss out on their periods, and as a result they start worrying. Due to which, females tend to get concerned and look for reasons for not getting their periods.

During the initial stages, non-occurrence of periods is a normal thing and it happens quite often. Therefore, the females need not worry if periods do not occur.  The occurrence of periods gets affected by a variety of factors. Females who are sportier tend to have more abnormality in their periods as compared to females who are not athletic.

Furthermore, the occurrence of periods is also impacted by various other factors. The list of factors include medical problems, the weight of the female, the stress level of the female, sleep patterns and many more related factors.

Females who have irregular sleep patterns, or generally have lack of sleep, or are overweight or have high stress levels tend to have more irregularity in their periods as compared to the females who don't have any such issues.

Apart from these, the non-occurrence of periods may also occur due to pregnancy. Married females, who haven't had periods since a long time, need to ensure to get a pregnancy test done in order to confirm whether they are expecting or not.

Nevertheless, with the advancement in technology a lot of progress has been done in the medical field. For this reason, majority of the medical problems nowadays have a solution.

Similar is the case with the irregularity of periods. Doctors nowadays provide females with medicine that help in curing the problem of irregular periods.

Therefore, the women need to take note of this problem immediately in order to ensure that further medical problems can be avoided by instantly curing this problem, and to consult a gynaecologist in time.

Hey girls, well if your just starting out your period for the first time its completely normal if you skip a few months here and there and you all seem very young, your bodies are still developing give it time, it not like you can force yourself to get your periods.  And for those who haven't got their first period don't worry give it time it'll come when your bodies are ready. My friend got hers when she was like 18.

I got my period when I was 12 and I'm now 18 and it was never in a reg pattern cept I did get it on a pattern for 4 months. I'm a pretty tiny girl, 105 ib and 5'1 but I've always had a high metabolism. Weight does affect your cycle weather being light or over weight , stress can also be a factor and sleep patterns, lack of sleep isn't good for your bodies and these other factors too. I have some very athletic friends and they get irregular periods too. Apparently the more athletic you are affects your periods.  I also learned diet and caffeine intact affects your cycles too anand I love coffee lol.
This is just some advice I learn and thought I could share.
But if you guys are real worried than  go see a doctor, they'll prob put you on some pills, or hormone medications. But rem don't stress out too much

I 've had the same problem, but I would sometimes get my period once a year. I went to see the Dr regarding this issue and after some testes including a virginal ultrasound they told me everything was normal. The lady dr even told me if I were her daughter she wouldn't give me any type of birth control to regulate it because all your period does is make the woman older. I just recently started getting my period this year. I think I've missed it only 3months since the year started which is a first. So I think first you should get checked by the dr and if everything is fine just wait for it to come on its own.

Sometimes when you  don't get your period it can be because of hormone imbalance or because you are not ovulating. I've  been missing by periods and thats what my DR told me. He helped me out by putting me on birth control which does helps regulate my period. The most important thing to do is see a Dr not ovulating can have an affect on your fertility.

What happens when you don't get your period ever. Nothing really just a lot of question floating around in your head. It has to been a medical condition that happen in your parents before you were born. But don't give up keep seeking medical attention. I'm sure hell is trying to figure out what went wrong with me. I'm 35 yrs old and no period in my life. But like I said it raises a lot of health questions.

Far from knowing everything but the things I read say that from the time you start having periods until your about 22 you might have irregular periods. Now I would have to agree with Susie you really might want to see a DR to make sure that is what it is.

Same here. I'm 18 years old aswell and its been 15 months for me. There's been no signs at all of any sort of period during this time. No bloating or ceamping at all its like it totally stopped. I went to the gyno and got a lot of tests done and everything is normal. I've been told to go on birth control but denied due to all of the scary side affects and some other reasons. Then I was told of some thing that they call privera. Its not a birth control. Its a small pill you take everyday for 7 days a month for however long your dr. Tells you. Mine told me 7 months. And 3 days after the 7th day of the pill, your period comes. I guess forcing it to come every month for a few months it finally starts coming on its own, back to nromal. The pill works  and you should ask your doctor about it.

It could be a number of reasons my dear. Can you tell me if you are sexually active, and if not, how long ago you started your cycle? When girls first start their cycle's, it takes sometimes 2 years for it to regulate. I wouldn't worry if you've just started in the last year, and if your not sexually active.

Your period will probably not be regular for some time.  Don't worry about it as long as you are feeling well.  If you are feeling sick or in pain, then you should talk to someone and get to a doctor.  Irregular periods are part of it.

Have a gyno check for PCOS! It is very commonly missed. Check your symptoms at soulcyster.com >> it may at least give you an answer to why your not haveing a period. That is a common trait of PCOS.

If you had sex recently, then get a pregnancy test because you are going to need to make sure you're not pregnant.

This could happen if you are exercising too much or on a weird diet. I would suggest going to the dr since this isn't normal.

The word for the first period is "menarche" and the average age in USA is said to be 12 years and 5 months.  en.wikipedia.org    If you are very athletic and have little body fat (i.e. Would sink in fresh water), puberty may be delayed.  This was often the case with young female USSR athletes in the 20th century.

Don't worry, its just normal. Everybody is different. The age of period starts from 10 to as much as 16 years. Usually girls get their period at the age of 13 and 14. You will get your period soon in 3 years at most. There are some exceptions of 16 years.
If you won't get after 16, then see the doctor.
