I had a long and painful period and it would come and go during the month and after three years my dr. Gave me a ultrasound and I had 6 firboid tumors. He didn't know how I managed with them. He removed most of them two days later and now I am back to normal.

Some women have 2 to 3 periods in a month. It is a normal thing but as you are telling that it is going to worst then you need to consult with the doctor.

It can happen because of stress. Ingesting medication or other substances that disturbs the luteal phase.

Heavy bleeding can be because of low progesterone, PCOS, or because of hormonal imbalance
