I stopped taking birth control about a lil over month ago and was suppose to have my period on thursday and its now tuesday and I havent gotten it, took several pregnancy test and all neg. Slight cramping, increased vaginal discharge (with no odor) and sore nipples. I research this and it said that after getting off birth control it may take some women a few cycles to go back to normal, but if you miss 3 then you should consult your doctor. Last time I stopped birth control I got pregnant the following month, so every time is different. But I'm going to the doctor on thursday, will try to come back on here to post an update.

I'm going through the same thing and I just read that after stopping the pill, you can miss your period for about 1-3 months.

Well! If you stopped your birth control and had sex, then missed a period I would be getting a home test just to take the stress off. That could trigger your period. But I found if I missed my pill for a day or two I got my period in another day. When I quit all together my period also quit for a couple of months. It was like it didn't have any thing to tell it was time. Every one is different, good luck.

I'm having the same problem and its pretty scary. I stopped taking my pill and a few days after that I had a period however my next period was due 3 weeks ago now and I'm still waiting!. I have done a pregnancy test that was negative. I have no period pains as if I'm even going to come on however I do have slight cramping in my lower abdomen area & am constantly going for a wee, when I need to go I can't hold myself for long!. Help?

I actually just stopped taking birth control January 1st after being on it for 5 years. I had my period in February like clockwork and now it is about 3 days late. I am not experiencing any pre-menstrual symptoms either! Should I be worried about this? I think it would take a while to be able to get pregnant after being on it for so long but you never know. Any advice would be great!

I'm definitely experiencing this. I stopped taking NuvaRing and had one normal period and have been off for months! No period from Jan 27- now (April 8) that's quite a long time. I'm definitely not pregnant. That's impossible. And it is very scary. I'm abroad now and will have to wait to talk to my doctor until June. Maybe I will have it by then. Weird either way!! Women have fascinating bodies.

Hormones have different effect on different women after stopping the birth control pills. It is unusual for a woman to miss a period or two after stopping the birth control pills. You should take doctor's advice for this.

I must say I'm pretty stressed too. I'm not sure when I stoped taking my pill and when last I had my period. It could be more than 3 months ago. I have taken a pregnancy test and it was negative and now I'm worried I didnt do it right. I constantly think I'm about to have my period because My skins starts to break out in acne again and I get really bad mood swings but it just never comes. I also get really bad discharge witch also scares me. I don't feel comfortable to talk to my mom about this because she does not know I'm sexually active and I'm afraid it will come out some how. I'm hoping to get some answers by talking to some people who experience the same things.

I just got off the pill and missed my period but it was a little "spotty" for a day or two.  Is that normal?

I was on the pill for 6 years and I recently got off.  I have not gotten a period since then, and I should have had 3 by now.  I have taken 6 pregnancy tests and all say negative, is this just because my body is adjusting back to producing it's own hormones? And how long is too long to wait before I go see a doctor? Help!

I am going through the same thing and I sincerely hope that I'm not pregnant because me and my bf broke up. I do not see how it is possible because we didn't have sex after I had my last period on bc and when I stopped I had with drawl bleeding...but my period is now late.

I'm in the same situation I'm hoping its because of the sudden stop of hormones from the pills but ill be going to the gyno in 2 days and I'm going to find out and ask her about it. I don't think I'm pregnant but you never know.
