It is not possible to get pregnant after the menopause because at this age ovaries become least responsive to the circulating levels of pituitary hormones like FSH and LH. For pregnancy, many factors are needed in normal range and regular periods with ovulation is one of the much needed factor. At the menopause, periods and ovulation are absent, so, pregnancy is not possible.
