Urination is the process by which a person ejects urine from the bladder through the urethra. Healthy human beings urinate voluntarily and the amount of times they do can depend on a variety of different factors. It is said that a normal person who drinks around 2 litres of water a day urinates around 6-7 times a day, however if a person drinks less, then the obvious consequence is that they will have to go to the bathroom less and the opposite is equally true. This number is also influenced by natural factors such as the temperature, as a person will need to urinate less in hotter conditions to the loss of water through perspiration which occurs to keep the body cool. In hotter weather a person who drinks the same amount of water will have to go more than a person in colder weather. The frequency of toilet breaks that a person needs can differ even in the same conditions because everyone is different, therefore if a person goes a little more often than someone else it is not a cause for concern. It is more important to compare it to the actual person's urinary patterns and if suddenly the given person starts to need the restroom more often than previously it might be worthwhile seeing a doctor as there could be serious underlying medical problems. Going to the toilet to urinate more often can be linked to diabetes as relieving is a way the body gets rid of excess glucose in the body. In conclusion different people urinate different amount of times a day, however unless a person is urinating way too many or few times a day then it is more important to compare the frequency to the aforementioned person's tendencies and if there is an obvious change then he/she should seek medical attention.

It can be between 6-7 times a day.
If you are drinking a lot of fluids like 8-10 glasses of water a day, you will have to urinate much more through the day until your kidneys gets used to it.

I think what you do in the day is also a big factor. I sit at a computer from 9 to 5, and find drinking tea will make me want to go to the bathroom within 30 minutes of drinking. I have stopped drinking so much tea and try to get some walking breaks, mostly now it is maybe around 8 times per day. Used to be a lot more. I think the bladder also gets into a habit of 'wanting to go'

I am trying to restrict it to every 3 hours, but it varies.
