Well firstly one-third of those polls did not respond to the survey, so this figure cannot be interpreted as being gospel.  However, the decrease can be interpreted by better informed care and practices, society peer pressure, advantages in ultrasound and increased knowledge of fetal pain.

Perhaps because religious wackaloons shot some and intimidated many out of business. Plus some states have tightened abortion restrictions. Then, among certain demographics, the pregnancy rate has fallen. And so on.
