Just had a Root Canal two weeks ago.  It was done in two parts.  Honestly, it was the best Root Canal I have ever had.  It was less traumatic then my previous ones having it done in two parts.  Did you have the Root canal?  How did it go?

With endodontic therapy, there are ways in which you can have your treatment done without being unconscious, search online more information on website like Zerodonto.

Search for names like Stephen Buchanan, Arnaldo Castellucci, Clifford Ruddle, Mahmoud Torabinejad, Filippo Santarcangelo, Giorgio Ucelli, if you want more information.

It is known for "endodontic therapy", I would not permit a dentist operator to place myself in a coma for this type of canal surgery, necessity for such operations became obsolete years ago today.
