Are multi-vitamin tablets worth the money?

I think it depends which ones you get, really. I've taken the usual multivitamins that you get in chemists, and not noticed any real differences.

Berocca

The only multivitamins that I've actually noticed a difference from taking are Berocca, or own-brand equivalents - Boots' version is much cheaper, and is the one I go for. The orange flavour is the least offensive!

Berocca are those tablets that you put in a glass of water, wait for them to dissolve (they fizz as they're doing it) and then you drink. I usually try to put just enough water in so I can down it in two gulps, because it's not the nicest-tasting thing in the world.

I've recommended them to friends and family, and my mum then recommended them to her friend at work, after realising what a difference they make. For me, the main benefits of taking these multi-vitamins are:

  • Better concentration
  • More energy
  • Clearer skin
  • Better immune system
  • Best hangover prevention I've ever come across!
  • Improved mood
I suppose the benefits of taking multi-vitamins really depend on what vitamins you're getting from the food you eat, and what vitamins you're low on.

The trick with multivitamins is to take them on a daily basis - there's no point just taking one every other week, as that won't make a difference at all!

Thanks Lily, just fancied getting someone else's opinion. Like you I've tried Berocca and found it's brilliant as a hangover preventative/cure and effective at pepping you up should you feel yourself to be coming down with something, but it's far too expensive to take on a daily basis.
