Does eating high calories make you lose it in a day?

No.  You have to eat few calories of your daily intake to lose wait.  However the type of food and calories are important... For example 2 chicken breasts or 2 portions of protein is better than 400-500 calories of carbohydrates especially the fast release kind like potatoes or white rice - that is going to be more filling than the rice or eating tonnes of vegetables is filling but lower in calories and keeps you going. 

The only exception to this is when you eating a low carbohydrate diet and you are burning fat and reserved carbs in your body.

For example Two chicken breasts or Two portions of protein is better than 400-500 calorie of carbohydrates especially the quick release kind like taters or white rice -- that is going to be more filling compared to rice or eating lots of vegetables is filling up but lower in calories as well as keeps you going.
