My mother is 93. Her blood pressure is 150 over 73. My concern is her heart rate is between 48 and 57. She is on blood pressure meds, thyroid meds, diabetes meds and more. What can be done about her heart rate at her age?

If she has no evidence of Heart Failure, heart attack or a stroke the doctors won't do much because of her age.

They could give her medications to regulate her heart rate to make it beat faster. The medication called "Lanoxin" is pretty much prescribed for that..Now the doctor could implant a "Pace Maker" which could help her heart but than again they will consider her age..
