Laparoscopic surgery in ANY case means much easier recovery for you. Small incisions as opposed to large ones = less scarring and less pain. I had my gallbladder removed using this type of surgery and was back working in a little over a week. Only drawback that I had was the dissipation of the "gas" they fill your belly with, other than that....it wasn't bad at all.

If you're having painful periods it can reduce it. They will scrape some of the scaring off which causes the pain. However, in time it usually comes back. So, most likely it would be a temporary fix. However, if you're having the surgery to help to become pregnant, I know many ladies who have had success after this operation.

If you're wanting to relieve pain, another option is birth control which you only have 4 light periods a year with. Hope this helps :-)
