Help! I'm 36 and my doctor told me I can't have more children. I already have 1 but wanted another. Adoption never crossed my mind, but my husband doesn't know what we should do?

I adopted two brothers that were 2 and 4 years old, and that was 30 years ago. Adoption is a pretty long process, involving a lot of paper work and personal invasion but it's is well worth the result. My two adopted sons will ALWAYS hold the same weight in my heart as do my two older kids that came from my DNA.

You can adopt or you can find a surrogate or you can stick with one. Not being able to have your own is not the end of the world. I am not trying to be callus. I am speaking from experience and you are one child ahead of me. I am sorry you are facing this as I know it is something you didn't expect, but it is what it is. Take some time to let everything sink in. You don't need to make any decisions right away.

First and foremost, talk to your Husband and explain the situation and then discuss with him what other avenues you could take here.  Things happen in this world beyond our control but that doesn't mean its the end of the world and this is quite common nowadays so you are not alone here.  So talk to your Husband and together do your homework and find another way to grow your family.  Trust your Husband here, sorry to hear this and good luck
