Hypothermia is defined as a body core temperature below 35.0 °C. Symptoms depend on the temperature. In mild hypothermia there is shivering and mental confusion. In moderate hypothermia shivering stops and confusion increases.

In severe hypothermia there may be paradoxical undressing, where a person removes their clothing, as well as an increased risk of the heart stopping.

I am confused .. You say it was minus 24 outside .. But what was the temperature in the den?  I am assuming it would be typical room temperature in a house with a heating system .. Even if the den was  few degrees lower than the rest of the house ... Sleeping on the living room floor without a blanket would cause you to feel cold .. Even cause shivering .. But not hypothermia.

You also mentioned your feet where 'numb' ... but not your fingers.  Did you experience frost bite?  Wasn't the room heated at all? Did you have blankets?  Too many factors missing for this to even make sense.

i think it was hypothermia bc throughout the day even in my bed heated house wearing 6 layers including sweatshirts and 3 blankets on top i was still shivering, it took my body temp. a whole day to go back to normal

the whole day i was violently shivering, i think that means my body temp. took a while to get back to normal since my body temp. is normally low at 96 or 97
