The main difference between Fitness and Body Building is that fitness does not require weightlifting. In fitness there is no need of daily exercise. In body building you will have to eat and drink lots of protein but not in fitness.

Body building, is the continuation of Breaking down the muscle to create larger denser muscle.

Fitness, you plateau where you want to be, and maintain a very defined tone to the over-all muscle groups.

Usually fitness is best suited for endurance while Body building can handle a bit more in the strength department.

Bodybuilding: It's All About Size

Bodybuilders are lifting weights not to develop functional strength but to increase the size of their muscles. They will develop strength along the way, but it's only a side effect of the training rather than the focus.

Those lifting for size will usually work for the "pump," which is when blood brings oxygen and nutrients to your muscles and gives you a sort of high. The type of lifting done by bodybuilders is meant to create microscopic tears in the muscle, forcing the body to repair the muscles and expand the storage capacity. The repairs caused the muscles to grow larger, a process known as hypertrophy.

When the muscles grow larger, they are able to hold more energy, which means they can exert greater force. However, the energy stored in bulky muscles is not the same as real strength, and bodybuilders often tend to be weaker than they look.

Fitness: It's All About Strength

When it comes to strength training, there is only one purpose to the workout: To increase the amount of force your muscles can produce to lift heavy objects. The size and shape of the muscles don't matter, provided they can exert maximum force when it comes time to lift.

Training for strength is usually done with low reps and high weight, and the training is aimed at teaching your central nervous system how to most efficiently recruit motor units when lifting. You lift with the goal of strengthening your muscles, reinforcing the joints, hardening the bones, and developing stronger connective tissue.

I think both are same terms there is no major difference between them.but the main difference is that fitness modeling does not require weightlifting.Bodybuilding is primarily involved in pushing and pulling heavy weight.

Body-building is related to only that part which is only external while fitness is all round means, you can understand it from this statement: "A person can be know as a body builder may not be fit in the that he may have muscular body but he has hemorrhoids or over shaped muscular bulges due to which he's unable to work properly."

we can also say that body building is a segment of fitness that is only limited to muscles, reversely we can say if one person builds body in proper way and also following others practices to stay fit can be known for his fitness.

Hi
there! While bodybuilding is all about weight training to gain mass and later
move into competitions and so on, fitness is more to do with keeping fit and
healthy. The latter involves lots of dieting and the goal is also to stay
ripped and well-defined. It’s actually the best option for regular guys!
