My mother sometimes suffers with knee pain. She usually uses home remedies to improve this situation. I would like to list these home remedies for you.

1. Cold Compress: The cold will help you constrict your blood vessels, thus reduce the flow of blood toward the painful area as well as alleviate the swelling.

2. Apple Cider Vinegar: This ingredient will help you eliminate the accumulation of minerals as well as harmful toxins at the joint of knee.

3. Lemon: With the citric acid, it can effectively dissolve the crystals of uric acid which is the reason that triggers arthritis which is a reason of knee pain.

4. Ginger: It is excellent at treating knee pain from both injury and strain of muscle as well as arthritis.

I was suffering from pain from arthritis in my left knee.  Can't take the usual anti-inflamatories (Advil, Aleve, etc) because they interact with my blood thinners.  Doctor has me taking tumric with pepper (apparently the pepper is important?) and it actually works.  Give it a try AFTER you check with yiour doctor.

Hockey players and other sports figures,

use this to keep in shape.

Laying on your stomach (a bed is best) with your

legs bent, very slowly criss cross your legs back,

and fourth. Do not try to force your legs just take your time.

Do this for about five or six times before you go to sleep,

and when you wake up. After the fourth or fifth day doing this,

increase the number by three. But remember go slowly,

if it starts to hurt stop. Always listen to your body.

The best way to cure knee pain is knee strengthening exercises.

1. Straight Leg Raises

This exercise is extremely beneficial for quadriceps and all the muscles in the front of the thigh. You should keep doing this several times for each round.

2. Quad Clenches This exercise aims to promote the Quads.

Whether you’re looking to head off problems in the first place or you’ve already encountered some knee pain, the results of these recent studies may be the answer to your knee-related afflictions:

1. Strengthen your thighs.

It is suggested that weak front thigh muscles, also known as your quadriceps, can lead to knee pain. When you strengthen those muscles, your knees are stabilized and better able to handle the load that is involved with weight-bearing activities.

Squat and Leg Extension are good to strengthen your thighs.

2. Strengthen your hips.

In addition to strengthening your quadriceps, increasing strength in the muscles around your hips has been shown to reduce knee pain.

Side Leg Raises and Bridges are helpful.

3. Change your footwear.
