For a number of years now there has been an increasing trend for people wanting to be at the correct weight for their height. This increasing trend is very much part of the culture within western society and it means that there is a massive amount of pressure on people to be the correct size and weight. It is also true to say that it is getting increasingly difficult for people to meet what is classed as the ideal weight. As far as western culture was once concerned it did not actually matter what weight you were as long as you looked good. This is no longer the case. The media has played a massive part in the changing and growing trends to be the perfect weight.

I am 55 yrs old and weigh 140 fully dressed. I workout 3 times a week and eat healthy. I can't seem to lose weight.

I recently watched a programme where a doctor said 8 stone 7lbs is the ideal weight for a woman 5ft 4 inches. I'm sadly a bit bigger than that at the mo (I'm also 5ft 4) but I have been that weight before and I definitely agree it's a healthy size.

It would have been better if you had written your age and current weight in your question. These information can make easy for me to calculate your weight if you are below 18. It was then possible for me to suggest any thing if your are overweight.

Now I can only say that if you are overweight then go for daily brisk walk or swimming for one hour, avoid eating fatty and bakery foods, fast foods etc. Eat according to your daily calorie requirements. Increase your fluid intake instead of sold foods.
