Monoamine oxidase (MAOI) inhibitors are a type of anti depressant drugs. It is also supposed to help smokers quit smoking and reduce the consumption of alcohol and drugs. MOAI inhibitors have proved successful in treating depression and other sorts of problems such as social anxiety and agoraphobia. It is also found to be helpful in treating panic attacks. Some of the MAOI inhibitors include Toloxatone, Nialamide, Selegiline etc. MAOI inhibitors can cause many various side effects such as hallucinations, hypertension, low blood pressure and other forms of attacks depending upon the dosage. It is important to consume food or drinks along with the inhibitors, in order for it to work properly.
