If You Take Temperature In Mouth Do You Add A Degree Or Take Away A Degree Away?

Oral (by mouth) temperature is considered a core temperature and is considered the real temperature.
If you take a temperature axillary (under arm) then you need to add one degree. If you take a temperature rectally (anus) then you need to subtract a degree. It is not recommended that temperature is taken rectally anymore as there is a chance of puncturing the walls of the rectum and it is not a comfortable route.
The most accurate method to take a temperature is tympanic (in the ear). There are electronic thermometers made for this.
