It's one month until college. Should I get braces now? Firstly I've never stayed away from home and living in a hostel would itself be new for me.

Getting braces is a big decision and while you might be nervous about getting them, the results are usually always worth spending a couple of years feeling somewhat self conscious about how you look.

Getting braces and your confidence

Once the braces have done their job, you will most definitely be wanting to show off your smile.

With that said, starting off at college with braces can be daunting. You don’t have to opt for the traditional, metallic braces, though – there are some great options that aren’t easy to spot.

Invisalign is one of the most popular, “invisible” braces brands on the market, but this treatment isn’t cheap.

Speak to your orthodontist about the costs of various treatment options, especially those that are discrete, so you can glide through your college years without being self conscious about your smile.
