C section should only be in cases of medical reasons when the mother & or baby are in danger. Never just for convience, timing  or speed. Surgery is dangerious, recovery time is longer, the baby takes longer to meet the normal first responses becauses of not going thru the birth canal.

Surgery should never be just to make it easier or an easy choice.

Your welcome, I admit I am partial to as natural as possible. I worked as a midwife for several years so seeing it in homes & birthing centers isa differant view.

I have never had kids as I had a hysterectomy at a young age. That surgery cuts the same muscles and has the same recovery as a C-section. I wasn't allowed to even drive for 4 weeks or lift anything over 10 lbs. For 6 weeks. Walking around the block was very difficult for weeks. I couldn't imagine having to get up and care for a child while recovering from that. If I had to choose I would choose a natural.

I would only do it naturally if I had no medical issues and it was natural from the beginning. No drugs to jump start labor. Water breaks, dilate, push, deliver, deliver the placenta. No drugs at all.

If I had medical issues, I would choose a vaginal birth with an epidural.

I would never have a C-section unless there was no choice. It would be a last resort to save my baby or I. Way too invasive, and the risk factors are high.

I gave birth two times. Both times vaginally with an epidural. I had medical issues and severe complications that almost cost me my life.

I have only one child and he was born via C-section. It's weird, but when I was going through the prenatal classes and it got to the C-section part, I somehow knew I would not have a vaginal birth.

And I was right. I was two weeks late and was finally induced. Went through 8 hours of labor - doctor determine through a monitor that we were losing the baby's heartbeat during contractions. So we stopped and went to surgery. My husband - who absolutely does not like blood - was the first one to see my son and he didn't even faint (oh happy day) at the sight of this newborn baby. He was a healthy 7 pounds and 10 ounces. One baby was enough for me. I was happy everyone was fine after the birth.

Naturally. I don't like the thought of surgery. You're gonna get pain afterwards with both but I've heard there are tons of nasty side effects with a C section.
