If it's dietary for health reasons, I'll oblige. If they are just ornery and picky about their food, I'll tell them to bring their own food.

It might be a bit different in Oz because Christmas is in the middle of summer and we tend to eat salads and cold meats.

I just lay out a selection of salads, meats and sweets, and everybody serves themselves according to their own particular tastes.

Just make a variety of foods. There should be something they can eat. In my family we have diabetics, vegetarians, and I don't eat red meat. So there is always a good selection of veggies. If red meat is served whoever is hosting aften makes a chicken breast for me, but I don't need them too. I can eat veggies and be fine.

If they're adults and don't like what is being prepared/served ... They should bring their own dish, or keep their mouth shut.

If they're kids ... They can eat it, or go without.

One of my sisters Toni has a fix for that, she says eat it or wear she will throw the food at you so don't complain...
