I live in FL and two counties here were raised to an emergency threat level. What that means I am not really sure. But there has been changes in collecting blood donations. If you have been to a country listed as a high risk country you cannot donate for 26 days I believe is what they said.

Florida has 9 confirmed cases. The people had all travelled out of the country. My concern is how many people who have travelled and returned and don't know they are carrying it, as most people show no symptoms. I have a nephew and his wife who activiely trying to have a baby. He is a park ranger for the state and they live  in a state park in the woods where there are a lot of mosquitoes. That concerns me.

Marie Flores , Zika Virus can affect babies vision also, answered

Zika virus has now been linked to vision problems in babies. Zika virus is already associated with microcephaly, which is a birth defect that causes abnormally small heads and brains in babies. Research has found that one-third of Brazilian babies with microcephaly also have vision problems as well, including ocular lesions, optic nerve abnormalities, and chorioretinal atrophy.
