Yes, of course! But unfortunately, modern technology and medicine can only do so much! ): Sometimes we get lucky and a cure for something is found. Other times, the most we can do is treatment, and that's occasionally as close as we get... We don't even have a cure for the common cold!
Don't forget we have already come a very, very long way from even just a couple decades ago. Hopefully, in a few years time, we will start to see even more advancement in this area. :D
The world is doing very well about cures, so many illnesses that would kill or heavily harm a human being have been covered through decades till today that so many diseases are even forgotten!
