My oldest daughter has the sickle cell anemia trait (she inherited it from her father) she passed the disease on to my two grandsons, my oldest grandson died last year at the age of 22, the younger one still suffers from the disease.
I'm afraid to get a disease because i don't want my kids to get it, does a child have a high risk of getting a serious illness like their parents?
It depends on what the disease is. If it something that you have caused yourself, say cirrhosis from drinking too much, then no, they are not at a high risk. If it's something that can be, or is hereditary, then yes, they are at a higher risk.
