My body didn't enjoy tampons, so I couldn't really use those with any regularity, but when I did, I looked for the type of applicator (plastic / cardboard) it had while making my decision. To me, that signaled the ease of insertion.
I was also able to use store brands without any problems, but some are sensitive to that. Some are sensitive to fragrances so having a scented product would pose a problem for them.
Always is a good brand but are a little pricey for some. You might end up experimenting with the different products as this really is a personal decision and what your body is able to tolerate.
