Are physical abnormalities also disabilities?

No, not necessarily. There are many abnormalities that do not impede movement or bodily functions ... Like: Being born with 9 Fingers  or toes .. If it does not disable normal use of the hands then it is not a disability.

Not necessary and a disability is when it keeps one from finding gainful employment for more than  a year or longer
