Broadly, the white blood cells (WBC) are the body's defence soldiers. Iympocytes which is a type of WBC are responsible for the production of antibodies in response to a foreign body.

The foreign body may be allergen, dust, viruses or microbes, different blood cell groups, or even an inanimate object.

Exposure to such types of foreign body will lead to over production of WBC's to fight against the foreign object.
