How Long Do Pot Brownies Take To Kick In?

You have to think about what path the THC takes in order to get into your bloodstream.  Rather than smoking where it goes into your lungs and almost immediately and distributed through your blood, ingesting has a much longer path to take.  When you eat pot brownies, it can take as long as 2-3 hours depending on a lot of factors.  How much did you eat (regular food) prior to eating the brownie?  What is your metabolism?  What is the potency?

I'm 6'1" 215lbs and whenever I eat pot brownies it takes an extremely long time for them to kick in.  One time in college I waited an hour, didn't feel anything so I ate another.  Waited another hour...nothing, so I ate another.  At hour 3 I hated my life.  It was an extremely intolerable high, which sounds impossible, but it's true.  I just wanted it to go away but it wouldn't.  It was like a bad acid trip.

If you're a small person with a fast metabolism then I would say an hour is a safe bet.  But as I said previously, it can take much longer than that based on the variables of your physical and chemical makeup.  My magic number is 3 hours.  Others around me have felt them as soon as 20 minutes, which I believe is a placebo effect.

Whatever you do, don't eat more thinking the first brownie didn't work.  Otherwise you'll be like me and living your own personal version of Apocalypses Now.  Eat one, wait a while and if it doesn't work, try again tomorrow with two.

Remember that the brownie has to make it through your entire digestive system and into your intestines before your body starts to absorb the full amount of THC.  Good luck, have fun, and be safe!
