I'm 10 too, and I just got my first period this past Saturday, and I am still having it now. I stole some of my Mom's pads because only my best friend Caroline knows, and it turns out she had her first one last month. I also have a book called '' The Care And Keeping Of You''. I've had it for a while, but now it comes to good use. It tells you about getting bras, having your first period, inserting tampons, choosing tampons or pads, how long to use them before changing them, when you should get them, breast stages, and what to do if it happens at school, like me. ( ginormous surprise, by the way! Ha-ha! ) It also has stuff like eating, your body changing, and personal hygiene, so it's a good cover for your family and friends. It has really helped me, and you should get it if you can. I also recommend taking pads to school, like I do, and making a chart after sort of getting an idea of when you think it might happen again. When you think it might happen soon, just wear pads in case. Hope that helps!!!!!

That's when I started. Don't try to hide it form your parents(like I did) they will find out eventually. Just tell your Mom and get some pads. Be prepared for horrid cramps and having to use time between class differently then talking to your friends, if your school has different classes every hour yet. Although you might not have a super heavy flow, like one of my friends, you may have a ridiculously heavy flow, like me. Maybe have an extra pair of pants in your locker, they might come in handy if your pad explodes. Hope this helps. =-)

First thing is to sit down and talk to your mama. 2nd thing is to go to the store and pick up some pads and midol...possibly a heating pad. It will help with the cramps. Don't be afraid its normal and don't be ashamed bc its natural.

I also started when I was ten, it was really light flow to start with, it is typical to start light and be off and on for awhile. If you can't talk to your mom, then talk to the nurse at school or someone else about it, you will need to be able to get pads as you need them. Though it seems strange it is quite normal. Please do not be embarassed I started bleeding when I was at an amusment park and went on a water ride I had stuff everywhere and didn't even know it. That was embarassing.

Well, you got to tell your mom about it either way. She can help you with this sorta thing. She'll no what to buy. Moms are a bit better than friends for this sort of thing xxx - but friends are nice to talk to as well - it's nice to share your little problems with people the same age! Xxx hope this helps x.

I am 13. I started my first one at 11. It was kind of scary at first. But after a few days I got use to it. As soon as it happened, I told my bestfriend. And she spent the night and while she was there she told me I needed to tell my mom. I wasnt going to doubt her. So I told my mom and she didnt really tell me what to do because for the most part I already knew. But just tell your mom , and put a pad on. I , myself have never used a tampon . But if you do happen to use one , juss to let you know , most people do not get it right the first try. It's just like baseball , basketball , etc. Practice makes perfect. But if it hurts when you get it in , it may not be in far enough . So take it out , re-wash your hands and get a new one and re-try. Hope this helped (:

Oh don't worry, my period started when I was nine, just tell your mom, buy some tampons, you'll need larger ones later on, for now you just need the small ones. Periods can actually happen from 9-19. Sure, it sucks with athletic events at school. You don't need to go to the doctor. Life will go on like normal, it'll need getting used to. I also had five months (after the first time my period started) that I didn't have a period...so that's normal when you just started (I also had it twice a month).

It depends on your flow. If its heavy- go for super, but if not- just go for regular. If it's your first period, probably best to go for Regular, but your next period will probably be a bit heavier. But, its up to you. Speak to your mom about it. Hope this helps. Xxx
