Swelling can last as little as 2 days to several days. It is best to use an ice pack 20 minutes on one side of your face and rotate to the other side for 20 minutes and repeat from side to side. Also Ibuprofen is an Anti Inflammatory, if you are able to use it with no medical problems(such as Motrin and Advil), it is the best for dental pain.
