If your anal area stung, or hurt a little bit when you were defecating, it could be that you have some internal hemmorhoids. When a stool passes over these inflamed anal veins, it cases them to bleed, causing the person some discomfort while defecating and a small amount of bleeding. However, if you did not experience discomfort while defecating, and are having other symptoms such as abdominal pain and, the problem could be internal bleeding and you should contact your doctor right away.

Hi I have this same issue.  Have you ever found an answer to this problem?  I've been to the doctor and checked and everything came back normal.  But I don't know why this problem keeps persisting then.  Are you male or female?  I'm a female aged 38.  Thanks.  Anybody else have this issue please respond as well.

Could be a fissure.  Does it really hurt when you pass a stool?  Fissures are small tear around your anus.

It's a possibility that you may have poped a blood vessel, but if for some reason it persists and worsens and more symptoms start to show, see a doctor.

If you are constipated it could be from hemorrhoids, but if there is actual blood "IN" your poo, you need to see the doctor. Best wishes. Don't eat any seeds, nuts, popcorn, or gassy foods, milk sometimes aggravates my ibs too:( best wishes

A small amount of blood on the tissue after wiping is generally only a sign of local irritation caused by the abrasion produced by the tissue, Frequent wiping may produce this, as in the case of diarrhoea. Haemorrhoids, if present, can be irritated in the same way. If they are ruptured, they generally produce a substantially larger amount of blood. If this persists for days or there is blood in the toilet water or in (or on) your stools, you should see a doctor.
