I've used it for years in an antibiotic topical ointment. I mix it 3:1 with vaseline (three parts vaseline to one part sulfur), blend it well, and use it for any dermatitis conditions (hot spots, insect bites, etc.).
It also works well to keep chiggers away - just dust it around your wrists and ankles before going out.
