In terms of the amount of dosage of norcolut for postponement of menstruation, it is advised that they should not be taken for the purpose. The best way to postpone your menstrual cycle is by taking a combined contraceptive pill which you can get subscribed from your local nurse or doctor.

  • Tips on taking a combined contraceptive pill
When you have switched to a combined contraceptive pill and you have been advised on a certain dosage then you will not have to take the seven day break before you start on the new pack. Using two packs back to back is not necessarily a problem as long as you don't do it all the time. However, if you have been prescribed a biphasic pill or triphasic pill then you will need to finish the first cycle before you start the next pack.

  • How does the combined pill halt menstruation?
It is important to understand how the function of the pill works. When you are on the pill then your menstrual cycle can be planned. The estrogen in the pill can stop a period from taking place along with hormones that attempt to line the uterus. Bleeding will only occur when the pill is not taken regularly and it usually takes place in between the seven day break in between packs.

  • Alternative to the pill
Some women choose to take a hormonal tablet known as norethisterone. Most advise a 5mg dosage of three times a day for 3 to 4 days ahead of an impending period. Once it has been stopped your period will resume after about 2 to 3 days.

I must inform you that we are not a medical authority so consult a doctor or nurse for the appropriate information.

You shouldnt take medication of this kind without consulting your doctor. If you have been prescribed Norcolut, your doctor will be able to tell you how many tablets to take. If you haven't seen a doctor it is much better not to take them at all.
