Gestation (that is, length of pregnancy) for a zebra is 12-14 months, depending on the species. There are 3 species in existence, the Plains zebra (which Burchell's, Grant's, Selons', Chapman's and Crawshay's zebras), the Mountain zebra (which includes the Cape mountain and Hartmann's mountain zebras) and the Grevy's zebra. There used to be a 4th, the Quagga, but it went extinct.
