Try holding an icecube over the splinter for about five minutes to numb the skin. Then try to squeeze it out. If that does not work, nip the skin over top of the splinter with a pair of nail cutters and then try to squeeze the splinter out of lift it out with a stick pin. If you do nip the skin, make sure to put some Neosporin on it and cover it with a band-aid once the splinter is out.
