Kenneth Z Taylor was convicted of his wife's murder and sentenced to 30 years in prison as a result. Given the time that has elapsed since, it is very likely that Mr. Taylor remains in jail or could have passed away. The current whereabouts of his son is not known for sure.
- What happened?
When the murder of Mrs. Teresa Taylor was murdered with a blunt weapon in the Taylor family home in New Jersey, their son, Philip Andrew Taylor was only five months old. Upon police investigation, Mr. Kenneth Taylor was arrested, convicted and jailed for her murder. He was sentenced to 30 years with no parole.
Upon his incarceration, the custody of young Philip was given to Mrs. Taylor's sister, Celeste White and her husband. Philip then lived in New York with them for a period of time. The legislation for Philip's custody also stated that he could visit his father's parents, who were living in Indiana at the time, in the summer.
- An appeal by grandparents for adoption rights
However, his paternal grandparents then went about with their own scheme to adopt Philip. They appealed to the courts in Indiana for permission to adopt Philip; an action that was then permitted by the judge. As a result, Philip was kept in Indiana with his grandparents the next time he visited them.
However, the case was taken to five different judges in Indiana and there does not appear to be any record of the result.
Update: The adoption of the child was vacated by the parents of Ken Taylor and her sister, Celeste White and husband Philip adopted the little boy as one of their own. Ken Taylor's parental rights
were ultimately stripped,.
