I make sure my man works out because I like my men strong, bald, and muscular. Protein is important for building those sexy biceps and tight chest muscles.
With the price of meat getting higher day by day, I started looking into alternative high-protein food that I could add to the grocery list.
So, basically, I did a bit of homework, and it turns out all these food-types are high in protein:
My man told me that he didn't want to give up on his protein intake, and I told him that we couldn't afford to keep buying as much meat as he was consuming. Besides, too much red meat doesn't do your system any good in the long run!

At first he tried out some protein shakes, the kind often advertised on TV but this only made him miss his meat dishes even more.
Switching meat for other protein sources Eventually though, I managed to give him enough examples of delicious protein-rich dishes that, now, he isn't even bothered about not eating as much meat anymore.
Cutting down on the meat also gave us a chance to 'experiment' with some other types of food (lord knows he likes to 'experiment').
One discovery we made during this 'trial period' was Japanese food. The raw fish they use (think tuna and salmon) is really high in protein. Blanched soy beans called 'edamame' are another healthy source of protein used in Japanese cuisine, as is tofu!
The thing is, once you decide to break free and experiment, you'll soon realize there are a whole lot of options out there for getting your protein!
