My wife has PCOD since last 10 years. She takes Meprate for withdrawal bleeding every time. We had an unprotected sex last night. We do not want pregnancy she started taking Meprate yesterday. Will Meprate cause release of ovum from ovary?

Meprate does not cause ovulation, it will just cause a false period and is given to help regulate the normal cycle.

All should be fine, but as you are concerned, I would recommend testing for pregnancy just to be sure and put your minds at rest. Your wife could either see her doctor or just buy a test from the local chemist, and take the test herself.

It's true that your wife's condition will make conception more difficult anyway but nothing is impossible so I would advise against unprotected sex as you don't want a pregnancy to occur.

I found some other questions and answers here on Blurtit relating to your wife's condition and Meprate which I think you will find useful, you can read these here

I hope all is well and that I have helped a little.
