Meprate contains medroxyprogesterone which is a progestogen and can be used for endometriosis and cycle irregularities due to progesterone imbalance. Meprate can induce periods after 3-5 days of intake. Meprate and all other progestogens can cause increase in weight. Other side effects are blurred vision, yeast infections, breast tenderness, nausea, blood clots etc. Please note meprate will not treat polycystic ovarian disease.

I take medroxyprogestrone to regulate my periods.  I just started in about two months ago.  I have PCOS.  I am 42 years old.  It only took about 5-6 days for me to have a period then I bleed on and off for over a month. Now nothing, its been a little over a month and no period, weight gain though, I don't feel good at all, I've been vomitting a few times, and simply exhausted.  I called my doctor's office today and they advise me to stop taking it.  And then start again the first two weeks of each month and then stop for two weeks.
