Yes, my husband (B) caught scabies at work, this is the second time, and we have been and are going through hell, I feel that because he was attacked on a daily basis over a long period of time, he has a massive and nasty dose of them. The denial of his work place in order to cover up their accountability for their appallingly maintained, filthy parasite ridden facilities, doubled with the fact that people who call themselves skin specialist, are apparently not required to keep updated on the facts relating to these disgusting and debilitating things, has led B to be overcome by them and yes they are pouring out of his nose at an intolerable level.
There is some very antiquated and misleading information, advice and literature out there on these things, it is imperative that when reading up on these things, you look at the date it has been updated. The old fallacies, giving just two of many examples, they don’t live off a host and do not get on your face and scalp, are totally incorrect.
We have spent weeks using the pesticide filled creams they prescribe as well as the constant bathing, washing, cleaning etc. One person, recently, (who advertises as a skin specialist, Dermatologist) made us feel even worse than we already did, after suffering these revolting, disturbing things for weeks/months and as we tried to explain our symptoms and ask for his help, he turned his head away from us, holding up his hand and said he would be wasting his time on us as he said it was ridiculous that we were suggesting they were on our scalp, face and in our nose.
He told us that everything we were experiencing was in our head, once we said we had applied the pesticide creams he insisted they would all be dead and gone, he said the numerous pin pricks on B’s body was eczema, we begged him to take samples or look at them on a microscope or magnifying glass, he said “ I am not going to do any of that”, so we tried to hand this person evidence, which B had collected off his face and body, attached to sticky tape, of which he refused to take.
He even went as far as to say B could have contact with his children, who go to day care, as he said B definitely had no Scabies at the time.
Thank God, we knew better, as we were going through it and we did not go anywhere near our children, as we had, yet, another outbreak of them that night, they were obviously still burrowed and about to hatch.
There are different types of Scabies and the one that B got from work, sounds similar, to that, of the one usually found in nursing homes and it only took us about 10 minutes on the net to discover this and to read that others had experienced almost exact symptoms to what we were suffering, but were being told was in our heads.
Now after much of our own research, we have discovered some natural oils, which seem to be helping us. Unlike the Pharmaceutical creams that were being prescribing for us and which we were applying to no avail.
Our ordeal is not over, I only pray it is close to over, as knowing these parasites are burrowing, nesting, hatching and spreading their faeces, lava, bacteria, etc in our bodies over and over again, is too much to bear, topped with the lack of contact with each other and our family due to these things, is taking its toll in a big way.

Yes, there are different types of Scabies and the type that my husband caught at work, seems to be similar to the one’s described within Nursing Homes, because of incorrect diagnosis by Drs and the people who are suppose to specialise in these skin diseases, the whole ordeal has been made even more intolerable and ongoing.
One of the first things these dills do, as possibly they are too lazy and well paid to be bothered to update and collate factual current occurrences and facts, or perhaps there are other agendas for these blatant denials from them and the for total disregard and unwillingness to listen, to what you know you are experiencing.
So when you visit them, at hundreds of dollars a visit, in their Dr's rooms, is they look between your fingers, for obvious borings, if they don't see them they write you off as being paranoid, they will ask you if you have used the Pharmaceutical, pesticide creams they prescribe and support with great vigour, as soon as you say yes, and especially if you mention the Scabies are on your face and scalp, they are likely to tell you, that, therefore, everything is in your head, or to use it once again to be sure, but they assure you the creams would have killed them.
They will then more than likely, send you on your way, telling you the rash and pin pricks and lumps and bumps on other parts of your body, especially feet (which are obviously, Scabies injections and burrowings, they will tell you this is eczema, even after they have confirmed you have never had eczema or the like in your life, bizarre, No?
Now, I don't have to be a Dr to know these borings would be less visible or present if a clean, hygienic person catches the Scabies, my husband and I have extremely high standards in personal hygiene, one of those areas, in particular, is regular and necessary hand washing.
Due to the fact that, during the presence of these disgusting parasites, which attach themselves to your hands and under your nails, when you scratch them, etc. Are then transferred, if hands are not thoroughly washed, to everywhere, everyone and everything else. Therefore, the hand washing, for us, is even more frequent throughout the day and overall, it is also made very clear on current literature, the fact that scratching these areas, etc. Tends to hide or cover these borings in the skin.
My husband has also definitely got them coming out of his nose, I am not sure if this is because he was attacked by them so badly on his face, initially, you could see damage across his nose line, or/ or as well as, he was treating himself, but was told, by a Doctor, initially, not to include the face or scalp in the treatment, Dear Lord! Doesn’t common sense prevail with any of these highly paid and trusted people, where the hell else, are they going to go, if all of the rest of the body is a repellent to them?

Yours sincerely (DDD)
Disgusted, disgruntled and disappointed.

Can a person get scabies from others that have been told they have scabies and they have been kept home one day and come back the next day. They are treating their houses and they come back to our work areas do we need to treat our areas? Can you get it by toilet seats shaking hands and having their coats and hats hang in the closets? They ride in our vans side by side can they pass it on that way? Handshakes . What do I do to protect myself should I get checked out or get creams now because of contacts with the infected ones?

This scabies isn't from unclean just unclean of heart and soul! It's usually transmitted by the infected person coming in contact with others/sharing bedding/clothes, etc. It is not the same as BODY LICE SPREAD BY HOMELESS FOLKS who don't get a bath often, or have clean clothes. All You sexually active young folks have amplified this disease! My advice 2 you all is keep your dick in you r pants-keep you legs closed- and don't be passing this STD around anymore! THANKS!!!!! I

Scabies is a skin condition caused by a tiny mite. It usually causes a typical itchy rash. It can affect anyone of any age. It can be passed on to others by close skin-to-skin contact, most commonly by holding hands. Treatment with a cream or lotion will usually cure scabies. Could start anywhere on your skin

Scabies ISN'T an STD!!! Sorry you are misinformed and ignorantly answering people. It can be caught by simply sitting at a booth at a restaurant. You can catch it from crowded spaces like a crowded bus or concert. Skin on skin contact for prolonged periods of time. A simple hug or handshake won't give it to another. So why don't you keep your ignorant opinions to your self!!! Scabies is not from JUST sexual contact.

Yes you can get it from a handshake. Since they like to nest in the webbing of the hands, they can be transferable. How often can it happen? Who knows. How many actual studies have their been on the issue?

I've had scabies for months and have been misdiagnosed as having first a fungal infection, therefore using antifungal cream for weeks, then bacterial, therefore using bactrim cream for a few more weeks. I saw four doctors. I had itchy red bumps but they were all concerned about my secondary infection I had as a result of scratching, they totally ignored the other symptoms.

I finally had to self diagnose MYSELF by reading the internet when I woke up in the middle of the night with crawly sensations under my skin and finding looping tracking marks all over my arms. I ran to the nearest Urgent Care and told the doctor there to just give me the cream, as she also seemed confused. I was not confused, I knew exactly what I had. I used the cream three times and am seeing the doctor again today. I do not have a square inch on me that isn't tracked with a burrow.

The cream did not work, but I was traveling and may have reinfested myself. I am totally miserable, sick, and disgusted. Mainly because I fear for my inlaws who I was living with at the time I got it. I joined a gym and feel like I might have gotten it from there, not from sexual contact at all! No one really knows where or from who they get it since the symptoms show up so much later.

My infestation has spread to my face and my head itches as well. I used the cream on my face even though it says start at your neck. Now I feel they have gone in my nose, eyes and ears. They are all over me, eating me alive.

I can't think of anything worse than this. I take antihistamines that help somewhat but I can't sleep and I won't go out or have anyone over. I'm to the point I want to take a chlorine bleach bath and scrape my skin off and dig those critters out of me.

This has got to be God's wrath, a plague that tops all plagues. I feel terrible for all those people I might have infected while not knowing what I had. I wish doctors would be more informed on this disease. One of the doctors I saw was a dermatologist, and I even showed her the itchy bumps.

She gave me a cream for the itchy skin....eczema. And put me on bactrim for the secondary infection. She did a fungal test but never looked at the scrapings under a microscope. Had she done that I would have known then what I had. I hope they come up with better treatments in the near future.

SCABIES IS NOT ALWAYS BETWEEN YOUR FINGERS, TOES OR AROUND YOUR GROIN. Doctors seem to be very uneducated about this scourge, even dermatologists. I saw SIX doctors and only the last one got it right. I do not have it between my fingers, it started on my legs and gradually spread across my body INCLUDING FACE AND SCALP. This is another misnomer. But all in all, I did not have typical symptoms. Instead of straight scaly burrows I had fine lines that looped and did figure 8s all over me. It's like I was getting decorated with curly cues. Almost funny if it isn't such a pain. I'm on my third treatment with cream and pills. Clean your environment! I think that is the key... Car interior, furniture, floors, bathrooms, even door handles. Everything. Wash everything after each use, do not wear clothes twice, either wash bedding everyday or switch beds. After three days the bugs die. So good luck to anyone suffering with this. It is a scourge.

Scabies are burrowing parasites, and usually are visible to the naked eye as a slightly raised grayish line on the skin.  They can present themselves anywhere on the body.

I'm pissed! I've got scabies it seems and am allergic to the otc treatments-and can't afford a doc visit. Any other ideas for treatment? Itching and pissed at my nephew 4 giving it 2 me! How sick! Been using 91% alochol to rub down with-this helps with the itching at night-but really need a natural cure. Would really appreciate any thought/comments on this one! Thanks!

Well it is sad when people are so misinformed that they leave all of their ideas and false insights for other people to read! My 14yr old daughter went on a camping trip with some friends and came home with scabies! It is NOT just sexually transmitted, it is transmitted by prolonged contact from bedding, holding hands, and or meerly rubbing an area which has been infected. So before you people make your misinformed comments and scare people you should get educated!!!
