My mum had knee replacement surgery 2 weeks ago at the age of 80. Her leg has doubled in size and is pouring fluid. Is this safe? The doc says yes but I'm so worried

Of course you're worried, any child would be. Knee replacement surgery is a major surgery with a long recovery time. Some swelling is to be expected. By pouring fluid, what do you mean.....like fluid is weeping out of her skin, or its draining from the incision site? Either way, this by no means sounds "normal" there is a high risk of blood clots with this type of surgery which can cause excessive swelling.....I'd be right on that doctor, has he seen her leg in this shape or is he talking to you on the phone? Don't be afraid to get another opinion.
