Rooster and I tend to mention "pharmacist" as a "go to" guy in addition to checking with your doctor.

Pharmacists don't just count pills.  They are the experts in how drugs work, their interactions with other drugs, and the unusual side effects that you may have.

Doctors obviously understand how to use drugs and are the only ones who can prescribe them, but the Pharmacists are the true experts with regard to their use and any unique response you may have associated with them.

And even a "cold" call to a pharmacist in a pharmacy that didn't fill your prescription will get you a good answer.

Pharmacists like to help.

Rooster, Tiger, Jan and Tom are all right. That is what Pharmacists go to school for specifically. You can call any pharmacy and ask to speak to the pharmacist. There was only one time a pharmacist refused to answer my question because I didn't get permission first from the doctor to give my child Benadryl. Point being, I have called plenty of times in my life and only came across one unhelpful pharmacist.
