Dose of Zyrtec is 5 or 10 mg once in a day. You have taken two tablets of the this medicine and a total of 20 mg in one day. This dose is not overdose and will not hurt you. Overdose is 150 mg in a day. Higher doses of this medicine will not give you quick relief. It can cause some side effects.

When I had hives really badly I took zyrtec along with an acid controller (pepcid ac, or just a generic), 1 of each a day. I'm not sure why the acid controller helps but that is what urgent care suggested I do. Additionally, rubbing your hives down with ice helps calm the reaction.
