Your abs are just in the middle of your chest so it's fine. If you want to exercise the sides you could do this
when I lye on my side or do a pushup all my stomach centre like belly button area gets all this concentrated muscle just pushing out but at the sides it doesn't, so why arn't my abs covering the rest of my stomach sides?
To find sites with appropriate exercises, Google "love handles" and "obliques."
There are lots of ways to change your sit ups and push ups. :)
