All these drugs always had and still having medical benefits, it's not like they be recognized out of the sudden, these drugs are highly beneficial and always been.

It's people themselves who overdo it and become addicted and destroy their lives with it. Under medical terms, all these drugs are useful.

I had a doctor swab my nose with liquid cocaine as a pre-surgical medication.  I found out I was allergic to it, it turned my face like one big bruise!  Here in Colorado recreational weed is legal, as well as medical weed.  They tell me next year they will have vending machines for it in stop n shops!  It has drivers license scanners and facial recognition scanners.

My pain Med's are synthetic opium based, I have a doctors prescription for 540 pills every three months, and play hell Getting them from my prescription provider!  They will not fill the new prescription until the day I run out.  That wouldn't be a problem, but I have to get them mail order, and there would be a 5-7 wait for them to arrive.  They say it is federal law because of the war on drugs.  Yet, I can go to town and buy it off a dealer for $40.00-$60.00 a pill!  Where is their federal war on drugs!  Those that don't know me are more than likely saying "Doper Kop!"  You try living without any spinal discs, or cartiledge in your joints without medication!

Do I think they will legalize cocaine, no, not likely.  Like I said, weed is legal here under Colorado law, but still a class one narcotic under federal law!  Of course, five years ago I never thought they would legalize weed here either!

You know when you go to the dentist and get Novocain? That is cocaine based. Same as Lidocaine. Opioids are based on the same drug as heroine. They have both have their place in proper medicine.

And as for being told marijuana is bad for you, it has always been one of those things that some misguided people used misinformation to make the laws. It has long been known to have good and bad properties. Native Americans knew about the medicinal properties. It actually grew as a weed in many parts of the US.

During the depression era law makers made marijuana illegal as a way of trying to oust or control Mexican immigrants. They thought by making it illegal they could easily deport them for breaking the law. That way our country that was strained fiscally could reduce the population and leave more economic resources for whites. That is when the movie Reefer Madness came out, to help turn the public opinion against it.

Since about the time I got out of high school, in 1980, I had started hearing about the medicinal advantages to marijuana. At that time the big one was using it to treat glaucoma. Then we started hearing about it helping people going through chemotherapy. Now it is used for treating seizures, anxiety, Parkinson's, Tourette's, migraines and multiple sclerosis.

Legalizing it for medical use will be on the ballot this fall in Florida. I will be voting yes.

Cocaine has already been used for medicine, and in a sense. Still is. Marijuana has never been "bad" for you except in the smoking sense, Propaganda has distorted our perception on certain substances and the hype has lead many to fear what they've been told.

cocaine is in alot of meds already but not like crack cocaine or cocaine powder. I dont think cocaine or heroin will ever be legalized. It is too addictive. I have watched heroin addicts come off of it when i was in a drug rehab. I thought snorting cocaine was bad but heroin and yes people coming off of alcohol can die

There are a few studies that have come out saying that marijuana has many medicinal benefits. For example, marijuana has actually been proven to treat glaucoma in some people.  The problem starts when people overuse these drugs and become addicted to them. I think it's possible that cocaine and heroin can treat some illnesses and doctors may discover that in the next few years. Most of what you hear about are the negative aspects of cocaine and heroin and that's why people say they're bad for you. Over time I think people will start to look at those drugs in a more positive light just like marijuana.
