On average, men have a slower heart beat than women. For a man the rate is usually 72, for a woman is is usually 80. Before the physical maturity of the body and the mind, it's anybodies guess. For teenagers it's a time of free ranging feeling and emotional upheaval. Mood swings,puberty,new schools,and a sense of not belonging all contribute to to the irregular heart rate so common in teenagers.
