Although there's never been an accurate survey or study into how many men sleep shirtless, I'd suggest that many men do opt for the topless option when going to bed.

I myself sleep in just my boxer shorts almost every night.

What kind of guy sleeps without a shirt on?
The main factor that will dictate whether a man sleeps topless or not is probably the temperature.

If your bedroom is particularly chilly - or if your local climate/weather is frosty - then you'll probably want to wrap up in enough layers to keep you warm. Even those men who usually sleep topless are likely to wear a t-shirt to bed throughout the winter months.

Try sleeping topless in a drafty hunting lodge in Juneau, Alaska, and you'll see exactly what I mean! (I don't know why my wife thought that would make an enjoyable family holiday.)

The second factor that will influence whether a guy sleeps topless or not is the skin-to-fabric contact. If your duvet or bed-sheets are made of a coarse or irritating material, then sleeping topless might not be a bright idea.

Some men experience irritation, or even allergic reactions, from sleeping topless. This is usually due to the detergents used to wash bed linen, so wearing a top to bed might provide a layer of useful protection from that.

Finally, there are men who simply find that snug pajamas or other nightwear help them to sleep more comfortably. I've even heard of men who wear silk nighties to bed, although this is not common!

Don't all guys sleep shirtless? I would not understand a guy who slept in PJ's or lots of clothes.

Something is wrong with a guy who does not sleep in just his boxers/underwear.
