Abortion is when you abort a pregnancy - miscarriage is what occurs naturally. Miscarriage can occur up to 20 weeks, after which point it is referred to as a stillbirth. I miscarried at 13 weeks last year, and I had a lot of bleeding, with some grayish tissue and mainly globular clotted blood.

The miscarriage tissue has a complete shape like baby because it take place after 16 week of pregnancy. Your question is about abortion not about miscarriage as you are 5 weeks pregnant. The termination of pregnancy before 16 weeks is called abortion. The abortion always start with bleeding. If you have spots either stopped or still there, get hormonal support immediately. The white discharge and coating is not sign of abortion, it can be fungal infection due to high hormonal levels.

If Pregnancy terminated after 16 weeks, then it is miscarriage. Before this ia abortions. In abortion there can be thick blood, blood with small flesh pieces. In miscarriage along with blood, tissues can be larger looking like fleshy mass. After miscarriage or abortion go to doctor for Dilatation and curritage.
