I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH MS IN 4/06. I JUST ASKED THAT QUESTION EARLIER. I HAVE NO LEISIONS, I'VE JUST HAD MY THIRD MRI. I'VE BEEN ON AVONEX FOR THE LAST 5 MONTHS. I WAS OFF FOR 5 MONTHS. AND I WAS ON FOR 4 MONTHS BEFORE THAT. I ALSO HAVE HAD TO CLEAR SPINAL TAPS. MY NEUROLOGIST SAID THAT I HAD MS I JUST DIDN'T HAVE THE LEISIONS. IF YOU HAVE HAD OPTIC NEURITIS THEN YOU MOST LIKELY HAVE MS. ANYONE THAT HAS OPTIC NEURITIS AND HAS SYMPTOMS OF MS HAS MS WHETHER THEY HAVE LEISIONS OR NOT. MY NEUROLOGIST SAID MS COULD STILL BE RAGING THROUGH YOUR BODY DOING DAMAGE IF YOU WASN'T TAKING SOME KIND OF MS MEDICATION. ONE WAY YOU CAN TELL IS IF THE HEAT MAKES YOU SICK WHEN YOU GET OUT IN IT. I MEAN LIKE OUT IN THE HOT SUN OR IN A REALLY WARM ROOM. YOU NEED TO GO ON THE NATIONALMSSOCIETY.COM AND CHECK THE SITE OUT.

Well, that's the first time anybody ever told me this.my neural is testing for myasthenia gravis. Also gives eye symptoms.and also gets worse with the heat.

But now I will at least get a second opinion.am really grateful you answered.sometimes it feels like you're nuts ,or people just think you're lazy.I'll check the website.thanks,g.

No it dose'nt,sometimes, as in my case a spinal tap also is used as a tool by the doctor to confirm a diagnoses for ms after an mri and to rule out othe things.
